Dear Dad,

You depress me. I know you're not happy with your life. I don't really know what to tell you other than to just do something about it. Finish writing your book. Divorce Mom. It's difficult to always be the uplifting one, especially when that's not something you've ever really done for me. I think you're kind of like your mother in the sense that you secretly like to be miserable and like to have something to complain about. I hope I don't get like that as I get older. Dad, I love you, but sometimes dealing with you is just more work than I can handle. Do something about the fact that you're unhappy.

Also, I'm 20. You're 54 (on Saturday). I am not as smart as you are, nor do I have the wisdom and knowledge that simply grows with age. I don't have all the answers. I'll try to help any way that I can, but sometimes it gets to a point where I just don't know what else to say.

I vaguely recall hearing something about an OP photoshoot. Can someone fill me in on the details to that?

This is the first time I've failed to recruit friends for a con, so I'm feeling clingy and shy. xD;;

It's nearly 10am and my next class starts around 12, which means I'm wasting time in the library. Actually, waste isn't the best word for it I'm actually doing something productive. I found out about www.speedwing.org by accident as I came out of the 5th floor lifts and a poster caught my eye. Have been checking the website out. I'ts about work & travel opportunities to New Zeland and America for Singaporeans and Malaysians. I'm tempted.

I'm also itching to write a nice long blabbering blog entry about nothing in particular but I can't really bring myself to do it. Either I'm running low on brain juice, just too darn lazy or time constraints are holding me back. Perhaps a mixture of all three. Dii, with her long winded blog posts, is actually resorting to short, informative, to-the-point entries. Who would have expected?

Anida and Ainol, the girls from Penang, have hopped on a bus to KL where they will be staying at my house for the night before we head off to Pangkor Island tomorrow. Nazira who is in UITM will be taking the trains and crashing over at my place too.

And then... pangkor!

(exam results are expected to be out mid August :(. Also, I'm attending this year's AFS YES selection camp. Can't wait to see who we're sending next January!)

I need to get the first game ._.

Over time, it has occurred to me that putting all your purpose for living on one person (or others in general) seems like an excuse, like vehemently trying to justify an existence, or mere rationalising.

It is more exciting when there's something you love and you can taste passion for.

Sometimes it feels like I've found what I desire to give my life the edge to make it distinctly magical. The fantastical dream I want to weave is all about capturing -- taming -- the feelings I want to immortalise in words.

Yet, the dream-esque material is of cotton clouds and rainbow-washed sunrays -- all delicate and fragile -- hardly sustainable.

Perhaps at the bottom of my hierarchy of needs in this sphere, I just want to live my life without (any more) regrets.

Life is not an RPG. We cannot save and then reload the game when it goes wrong, or do things just for the sake of it when there are gravity-laden consequences. There are also no walkthroughs for referral.

It is a long story that spans many, many years. To ward away forgetfulness, go spin the walkthrough on your life, the codex of your chronicles.
